Karl Setzer Ulrich originally from the Port of Bremen, Germany; decides to start the  coffee adventure, beginning with the search for suitable land for planting  this wonderful grain. He moved to the southeast of Mexico and found the right ones in the North of the State of Chiapas. This is how he establishes the first farm in 1890 in  the municipality of Yajalón, Chiapas.

It began planting coffee trees and by the early 1900´s and manages to send their first  shipments of coffee to Germany.

His son Elmar continues with his father's legacy, increasing coffee production, since he founded two more farms, exporting all his production. For the third  generation, his grandson Hans decides to industrialize coffee, beginning the sale in Mexico both roasted and ground.

Today, the Fourth and Fifth Generations created the "Finca Setzer" brand; in order to show the world the aroma and flavor of coffee from Fincas Esperanza, Bremen and Texas, as well as other agricultural products, including cardamom.
